Professor Brett Mitchell is a Professor of Nursing at the University of Newcastle (Australia), Executive Director for Infection Prevention and Control for Victoria’s COVID-19 hotel quarantine program and Editor-in-Chief of Infection, Disease in Health. Brett  has position with the Central Coast Local Heath District in New South Wales and has over 150 peer reviewed publications and conference presentations.  He is a Fellow of Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control and the Australian College of Nursing. Brett has worked in the area of infection control for many years in Australia and abroad, including leading infection control programs in hospitals and at a State level. His research interests in the area of infection control include environmental cleaning, pneumonia, surveillance and urinary tract infections.
